Putin: Uneven recovery of global economy poses political risks

ST.PETERSBURG, Jun 4 (PRIME) – The uneven recovery of the global economy creates serious political threats to development of the countries and security, President Vladimir Putin said on Friday at the plenary session of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum.

"This creates serious political, economic and social risks for development of the modern interconnected world, for the general security," Putin said.

"We see that recovery of the global economy is happening unevenly, meaning different possibilities of different states. This can widen the gap in the living standards both inside countries and between them."

The global economy is returning to normal, we expect unusually strong economic growth, Putin said. "In spite of the depth of last year's decline, which, according to the experts, was the biggest since the World War II, we can confidently say that the global economy is returning to normal life. We expect that this year, the growth of global GDP (will be) extremely big, the biggest since the 70s," he said.
